In the case of Tpl, there is very little that it does beyond what PHP itself is capable of, and the most important feature is not part of the benchmark. It made me realise that the Wordpress template engine is far inferior to the Django template engine and why I've spent so long styling my website in Wordpress. Shame I couldn't get the hang of the rest of Django quite so quickly. It would be very nice if Wordpress adopted a similar style for their templating engine as Django and TPL, but I suppose that won't happen (any time soon). Thanks for this post!
